Your Name
The first part of this 'daily' may seem like having to watch slides of someone's vacation, but please continue through.
How many folks do you know who have been 'named' for either a family member, a good friend, or even a celebrity? I, myself, was. Her name was MARJORIE, which is my 'given' name. For some reason, all my life I heard her called, "Marney", but I don't why. Today would have been Aunt Marney's birthday, February 18th. Throughout my life, I knew of so many kindnesses with which she blessed others. When I was born, she was an Army nurse (R.N.), then, after she left the Army, she worked at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Prior to my parents moving in with us (all the way from Louisiana
to Texas), she was truly a "God Send" in checking up and helping them. I'm so honored to carry her name.
to Texas), she was truly a "God Send" in checking up and helping them. I'm so honored to carry her name.
We named our two sons, Ron Jr. and Patrick Seth. Of course, Ron was named after Ronnie. I had a sister who passed away and her name was Patricia. My Daddy was named after an uncle, 'Seth'. That's where we got Patrick Seth's name. Patrick and his lovely wife Stacy named their second child Caden SETH, and their 'baby girl' Brianne CAMILLE (after my Mother).
So, now to 'names'.
So, now to 'names'.
There's a poem/writing which says that if we're named after someone, we need to realize that WE 'represent' them, and we can do that when being good, or when we're not so good. That's the same with us Christians. We're God's hands and feet on this earth, and we definitely shall represent Him in our actions and our words, that is IF we are working for our Lord while we praise and honor Him in everything. If we choose the devil's work, if we follow HIS commands and bow down to him, then we lose God's holy spirit and His name.
Isaiah 9: 6-7
For a child is born to us, a Son is given to us.
The government will rest on His shoulders.
And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
His government and its peace will never end.
He will rule with fairness and justice from the
throne of his ancestor David for all eternity.
The passionate commitment of the Lord of
Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!
As Believers, we are supposed to be "transparent" - to live our lives like an open book - "The Bible".
John 7:4 - "For no man works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world."
Acts 28:31 - "preaching the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ quite openly and unhindered."
And, speaking of what 'others think of us', how about what 'we' think of others?
Matthew 7:1-2 - "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get."
Revelation 22: 12-13 - "And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."
Hope you have a peaceful, strife-free day. Maggie

AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST
2 Corinthians 5:20
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ...."
You are an ambassador for Christ! If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord
of your life, you have been sent to act as a representative for Him in this
world. Just as nations send ambassadors to represent their interests in
other countries, you've been sent here to look after the interests of the kingdom of God.
Think about that. Everywhere you go you are representing the King of
Kings and the Lord of Lords. That's a very high honor. It may also seem
like a rather tall bill to fill. But God has equipped you to do it. He's given
you His Name and the power of His Word. He's even put His very own
Spirit inside you. And He's given you the ability to hear and obey the directions of that Spirit.
This is no time to be half-consecrated and half-dedicated. This is the time
to go all the way with God, to give Him your whole life. If you'll do that, He'll give you back such anointing and such power and such glory and goodness that you'll shine for Him, as Philippians 2:15 says, "as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation".
Begin to think about yourself today, not as just another ordinary man or woman but as an ambassador of Almighty God. Let the interests of His kingdom be foremost in your mind and heart. Submit yourself to Him and say, "Lord, show me how to be Your representative in everything I do."
