Hallelujah

HALLELUJAH - a word used to express joy.

Word origin for 'hallelujah' - from Hebrew - hallalu-yah - "praise Jehovah."
Praise the LORD stands at the beginning of ten of the Psalms.

Psalm 113:1-4

"Praise the Lord Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord.
Praise the name of the Lord
Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever.
     Everywhere—from east to west—
praise the name of the Lord.
For the Lord is high above the nations; His glory is higher than the heavens
."

In writing, most of us simply say, "PTL" - I suppose an 'accepted' shortcut .... at least, 'I' do that all the time.  Maybe I should rethink that !!  Of course, I 'praise the Lord' in everything, but this morning, I'm 'zero-ing in' on one 'field' in particular.  I   give the Lord my thanks all the time for my family and friends.  I'm especially thinking today about one friend, since 1996, who, although I've not seen him for about five years, he was not only my 'boss' for a while, but has remained 'an e-pal' over the years. Today is his birthday - Happy Birthday, Patrick, and 'God's graces and blessings' always.

Why is it on birthdays we tend to remember so many of our friends, let them know we're thinking of them, and don't do the same the other 364 days of the year ???  Is it a case of 'out of sight, out of mind' ??  How tragic, if so.  Ronnie and I also have another 'pal' (ironically, from 1996, with whom I worked and with whom I exchange emails on a daily basis) - Hi, Tom !!!    He begins my daily mornings with comics he diligently emails, and I totally enjoy them - and look forward to them.  I've told him many times that he has me spoiled.

I'm so blessed with many dear friends who I know are 'there' for me at all times.  Even if across the miles, I'm able to 'feel' their loving arms wrapped around me with support when I most need it.  Now, THAT's something to 'praise the Lord' about !!!  Yesterday, I received three individual emails from folks who thanked me for the 'daily' and how it blessed them.  My response was that for anything I 'send out' which blesses anyone, I give God all the thanks, glory and praise..... PRAISE THE LORD !!!  When you really think about it, we should be praising the Lord at all times, regardless of whether or not in 'tough' situations, our human eyes or minds understand a reason to thank Him and give Him praise.  Just 'do it', with all your heart !!

Psalm 72:19
   "
Praise His glorious name forever!
Let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
   Amen and amen
!"

So, to all of you, I praise the Lord for you, and you are in my thoughts and prayers always.  Maggie

Revelation 11:17
 "
And they said, 'We give thanks to You, Lord God, the Almighty,
the One Who is and Who always was,
for now You have assumed Your great power
......"

I'd really appreciate any good recipes and/or clean jokes I'd be able to upload onto the site.  MT

"NOT ALONE"

1 Peter 5:9

"Whom resist stedfast in the faith,
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished
in your brethren that are in the world."

Let me translate this verse in Southern vernacular--- "You ain't by yourself"!  All of us face trials, problems and difficulties.  We may be going through a difficulty, but we aren't alone.  People all over the world and from all walks of life are experiencing the same problems.  If you don't believe it, just look in the waiting room the next time you go to a hospital or a doctor's office.

When we go through these times, we tend to think that we are the only one-- the only one who has ever been though anything.  When we feel this way, it is easy to start feeling sorry for our self.  We can develop a "poor me" mentality.  This is one of the devices of the enemy.  He wants to make you think that you are the only one who has a problem.  He wants you to focus on yourself.  If he can get you to focus on yourself, he can stop you from ministering to others.

There are many other people who are facing worse problems than you are-- in comparison, your problem is small.  Just look around you and you will always find someone who is worse off than you are.  You will always find someone who is going through a bigger trial or has a bigger problem.  Instead of staying so focused on what is going on in your life, get refocused on Jesus.  When you do, your "mountain" problems will shrink in size-- compared to Him they are "mole hills".  Once the mountain size problem turns into a mole hill it won't be standing before you blocking your view of others who need you to tell them Jesus is bigger than their problem.

Have a great day.  You are not alone-- others are going through bigger trials than you are.  Don't feel sorry for yourself, cast it upon the Lord and reach out to help someone else in their affliction.
