POST AND JOY

I pray for all of you - for "Peace" and "Joy".  Hope you have a great day.  Maggie

Isaiah 55:12
"You will live in joy and peace.
The mountains and hills will burst into song,
and the trees of the field will clap their hands

Have a (Divinely!) Good Day

You hear it everywhere—from the dry cleaners to the fast food drive-through to the customer service representative you finally get on the phone: “Have a nice day.” But God wants you to have more than a nice one; he wants you to have a good day.

In the New Testament, you will find many “epistles”—letters—written to the early church by Paul and John. Often these men began their letters with the blessing “Grace to you and peace.” But in Peter’s First Epistle, he adds the important words: in abundance. “Grace and peace be yours in abundance
(1 Peter 1:2). God wants you to enjoy his blessings abundantly, and evidently Peter learned the secret of doing so, although he had many ups and downs on his spiritual journey.

How does one have a good day? Turn away from anything in any way suggestive of wrong and simply do good. But it’s not as easy as it sounds. Peter gives us some important clues for “good days” in 1 Peter 3:8-11:

  -  "Seek to live in harmony with others; have compassion and courtesy for them" (verse 8).

  -  "Refuse to be drawn down to the unhappy level of anyone who insists on spewing out insults or complaints. Instead, pray for that person and ask God to bless him or her. This is the road to blessings for yourself" (verse 9).

  -  "Guard your tongue from speaking anything negative" (verse 10).

  -  "Work for what you know is good and creates peace" (verse 11).

So, to lead a rewarding life, simply be a good person. Live in peace with God, yourself and others. Have a good day!
