Overwhelmed
How 'personal' is our Father God concerning us, and sometimes how we forget that.
'Personal' is defined as 'having to do with the character, personality, intimate affairs, conduct, etc. of a certain person'. WOW! God knows us 'personally', and when we're even more blessed, we know HIM personally.

There are times in our lives in which we make choices without any forethought, then when
they turn out to be not what we expected, we become overwhelmed with the responsibility
of handling them. That's when we need to pray first, then step up to the plate and deal happily however one would expect God to. My Mother would say, "You made your bed, now lay in it".

One thing which astounds me is when someone does or arranges for something, then expects others to help them 'with it' or to 'get out of it'. However, there are always situations over which we ourselves did not 'plan', yet we are forced into action. Regardless of which you are dealing, the first step is to petition our Lord to please help us.
Psalm 55:2
"Please listen and answer me, for I am overwhelmed by my troubles."

'Overwhelmed' - as Webster's defines:
|
"to overcome completely in mind or feeling; to overpower; to load, heap, treat, or address
with an overpowering or excessive amount of anything" It honestly amazes me the number of Prayer Requests which are specifically made for the
rebuking of feelings of being 'overwhelmed', but they come in daily. Of course, I pray for those folks daily. Their situations are hardly ever the same, but very real with feelings of helplessness being found in each case. They range from the loss of a loved one; to single Moms who have to juggle children and jobs; to the 'bread-winner' being laid off; to the possibility of an unborned baby having severe medical issues; to having too many family members and an inability to properly care - feed - etc. due to finances; to people losing their homes with no place to go; the list goes on and on and on. Whenever I hear or read about those who are overwhelmed with the situation in which they find
themselves, first I pray for them, then I thank God for my life. We have two great sons, two precious daughters-in-law, and six adorable, perfect grandchildren. Yes, I do sound like a 'Grammy', but it's true --- what blessings for me and Ronnie, and that supersedes anything the world or the devil can throw at us. Romans 8:37
"No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us." That's right - we already have the victory 'through Christ', and we need to stand on that victory
and not allow Satan to steal away our joy, which is definitely his M.O. So, when you feel overwhelmed, PRAY - and be grateful for the blessings you do have. Hope that you have a joyous and victorious day. Maggie ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |
