Without Regret

Ephesians 4:23
"Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes."

How often have you heard someone talk about our attitude determining how others perceive us?  I believe that it's an outward expression of our inner faith.  Think back, when is the last time that someone aggravated you and it turned your mood into a dark and foreboding one?  Have you ever been driving along, listening to Praise and Worship music and someone pulls out right in front of you, causing you to slam on your breaks, sloshing your coffee all over the floor?  I'm almost completely certain that you didn't smile and instantly be grateful that it didn't burn your hand.  How about when your boss chewed you out in front of the entire office over something which wasn't your fault?  Did you immediately thank the Lord that you stood in the gap for the person whose fault it really was?  We are constantly besieged with situations which have adverse effects on us, but how often do we remember WHO our 'enemy' really is?

1 Peter 5:8
"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."

Philippians 2:1 (Have the Attitude of Christ) - "Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from His love?   Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?"

Philippians 2:5 - "You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had."

Yes, I know that's REALLY hard, and no one is saying that it's not.  But we are expected to reflect God's love, to be a mirror for Jesus and His teachings.   Our 'attitude' SHOULD be one of gratitude to be walking with our Savior, blessing others.

1 Peter 3:8 - "Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude."

And, don't forget, smile --- it drives the devil crazy !!   ________________________________________________________________

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."  I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind.  Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile
Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling and even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason behind it.
