The Four 'P's'

Luke 18:1 - "One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up."

Ephesians 6:18
- "Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers
for all believers everywhere."

This morning when I got up, I didn't want to.  It was one of those times when the call of pillows, heating
pad, and a quilt overwhelmed me with promised comfort.  Even though I rebuke them, the doctors say I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and peripheral neuropathy.  Some days, one or all of them hits me hard.  THAT, I 'rebuke' too.  However, when I did get up, it was an effort, but my Mother's voice echoed in my ears, "Patience, Persistence, and Prayer."  It's the "3 P's" I try to live by.  I refuse to let the devil steal my joy, and I always add a fourth 'P' ...... Praise !!  I praise the Lord for His blessings, for His goodness, and His mercy. Years ago, I started saying Jabez' prayer, including 'expand my territory'..... and use me, Lord.  He certainly cannot do that if I'm propped up on pillows in bed.

1 Chronicles 4:9,10 - "There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful.  He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain.' And God granted him his request."
