This Too Shall Pass

Psalm 50:15"And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me."

When I first reread this scripture, I immediately thought of 'day of trouble' as a catastrophic happening --- You know, a personal, earth-shattering experience such as severe illness, horrible loss, etc.  Of course, God is bigger than even those, but He's our Father, and He knows the 'little things', too.   As frustrating as the last couple of days have been, with the chills and fever, and dealing with 'replacing' stuff which could be replaced from my lost billfold, I've still felt a calming peace coming from the Lord, and I truly do 'glorify' Him.  Guess what?  The fever's gone and I found my billfold - under the door - Hallelujah !!  Now, of what have the last couple of days reassued me?

Isaiah 53:5 - "But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the  chastisement that brought us peace,  and with His stripes we are healed."

Colossians 3:2
- "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."
Hebrews 10:36 - "Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised."

I truly thank the Lord, glorify Him, and praise His holy name always.  Hope you have a lovely, reassuring day.  Maggie

This Too Shall Pass

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-

If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains

That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near.
